This hand-carved wooden horn holder features the Triple Horn of Odin design.

Holder size:
This stand fits a ‘standard’ sized horn (typically one that holds a can of drink and is neither super skinny nor incredibly stout). The stand itself is 7 1/2 inches (20 cm) long and 3 1/2 inches (8 cm) wide with a 2 1/2 inch (6 cm) opening.

If you need a different hole size, just let me know.

IMPORTANT: THE CORNER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!

About the carvings:

Three interlocking drinking horns are an important Norse Viking symbol. It seems to be closely related to the Valknut and Triquetra and is often referred to as the Horn Triskelion. The Triskelion (or triskele) is a symbol with triple rotational symmetry (such symmetry means that the figure that has it looks the same after a certain rotation). Translated from Greek, the word triskelion means ‘three-legged’. The Horn Triskelion symbolises Odin: in order to obtain the mead of poetry (skáldskaparmjöðr), he bargained with the giant Gunnlöð for three sips of mead over three nights. However, with each sip, he drank the entire horn. Since the three horns he drank from contained all the mead, Odin thus got it all and escaped in the form of an eagle.

The horns were called Óðrœrir, Boðn and Són. These three horns had contained mead since the dwarves Fjalar and Galar killed a sage named Kvasir, who was created from the spittle of the Æsir and the Vanir. There were no questions that Kvasir could not answer. The two dwarves killed him, mixed his blood with mead, and poured the drink into Óðrœrir, Boðn, and Són. In Norse Viking mythology, the mead of poetry is a symbol of wisdom and poetic inspiration. According to the Prose Edda, whoever drinks it becomes a skald or scholar.
